Man killed in fatal motorcycle crash with wrong-way driver

There are many motorcycles on the road in Florida and it is important that the riders and drivers of conventional vehicles share the road and do so safely. Unfortunately, accidents will happen to motorcycle riders and, given their vulnerability, there is a significant chance of catastrophic injuries and a fatal motorcycle crash. A motorcycle accident victim and the victim's family need to understand the consequences that can accompany a motorcycle accident and consider legal action to be compensated for their damages.

Recently, a motorcyclist was killed in an accident when a driver went into oncoming traffic and crashed into him. The accident occurred at approximately 9:23 p.m. According to law enforcement, a 40-year-old man was driving a 2004 Dodge Durango and went into the southbound lanes of the road driving in the opposite direction. The 38-year-old motorcyclist has hit head-on. He was taken to the hospital via airlift and died there. The driver of the Durango had minor injuries. Police said that there were indications of impairment and he was arrested for DUI manslaughter.

With a motorcycle accident involving injuries, the victim will likely face significant medical costs, missed time at work and the potential for long-term damage. The person might need care 24/7. This can place a strain not just on the finances of the person and family, but on their personal lives as well. With a fatality, the family left behind will have to learn to live without a loved one. There can be financial issues as the person who died might have been a breadwinner in the household. Having legal help can be the key factor in receiving compensation commensurate with the losses whether it was injuries or a fatality.

In this incident, a motorcyclist died after being involved in a head-on crash with a driver who is believed to have been under the influence. As the investigation into this case continues, the family needs to protect themselves with legal help. Speaking to a legal professional can provide guidance in pursuing a claim.
