Motorcycle accidents: what is an ejection accident?

Motorcycle accidents are both serious and common. While Florida residents may choose to ride motorcycles for their commutes and travels, they should be aware that accidents involving motorcycles can be deadly. It is often the case that motorcycle accidents are not caused by motorcyclists but rather by other drivers who share the roads with motorcycles.

Compensation may be sought after a motorcycle accident

Not long ago, this blog discussed some of the ways that driver negligence may contribute to motorcycle accidents. Even when motorcyclists take every precaution, wear protective gear, and follow the rules of the road, they can be injured by inattentive, distracted, and even reckless drivers. Motorcycle accidents can cause serious injuries to victims and can leave them with extensive medical bills, ongoing pain, and difficulties returning to their regular lives.

Motorcycle accidents are common and often preventable

Motorcycles may be a fun and efficient way to travel across the state of Florida, but they can also be a very dangerous mode of transportation. Even when a motorcyclist takes every possible safety precaution, educates themselves on how to drive in different conditions and places, and follows all of the laws of the roads, they may still suffer serious harm in a collision. That is because it is often the fault of vehicle drivers who do not pay attention to their surroundings and collide with otherwise safe riders.

Man severely injured in Tampa motorcycle crash

A man suffered severe injuries while riding his motorcycle on Interstate 275 in the Tampa area. Ultimately, his injuries proved to be fatal. According to statements from law enforcement officers investigating the accident, the man was attempting to exit the freeway at the time of the accident. The driver of a car moved into the exit lane on the freeway, striking the motorcyclist with the vehicle's right sideview mirror.

Report: Florida most dangerous state for motorcyclists

Last month was Motorcycle Safety Awareness month in Florida, however, it is clear from accident statistics that motorists must be safety conscious about motorcycles throughout the year. In much of the country, motorcycles are only a factor on roads during warmer months. However, Florida's mild weather means that motorcycles share the roads with other vehicles year-round.

Motorcycle accident claims life of rider in Tampa area

Legal resources protect victims and their families in different situations following a motorcycle accident. A fatal Tampa area motorcycle accident recently left the motorcycle rider dead. The recent motorcycle accident occurred when a turning motor vehicle collided with the motorcycle. The motorcyclist died at the scene of the accident. The motorcycle accident occurred at an intersection which remained closed following the accident. Authorities are investigating the accident.

Legal resources protect motorcycle accident victims

Motorcycle riders can be especially vulnerable on the roadways which is why they have important legal protections to consider if they have been harmed by another party's carelessness in a motorcycle accident. Victims, and family members of victims, may be able to recover compensation for the physical, financial and emotional damages they have suffered in a motorcycle accident through a personal injury claim for damages.

Retired and a victim of a motorcycle accident? We can help

A previous post on this blog discussed how retirees in the Tampa area who choose to ride a motorcycle are at a greater risk of suffering a serious injury in the event of a motorcycle accident. However, getting compensation after such an accident may be difficult for an older biker for a couple of reasons.

Older motorcyclists getting injured more frequently

All of Florida, including the Tampa area, is known as being a great place for people both originally from Florida, as well as transplants from other parts of the country, to retire. What this means is that Florida has a lot of seniors on the roads, and these could include Baby Boomers who, for the first time, grew up riding motorcycles since they were a fad at that time.

Another motorcyclist dies in the Tampa area

In what seems like a déjà vu of an incident that this blog reported on a few weeks ago, another young motorcyclist, this one a male in his mid-20s, has died following an accident on the Tampa roads. Like the previous accident that was reported, the first reports suggest this accident was preventable with a little care on the part of the other driver who was supposed to be watching for motorcyclists.
