Large trucks are a constant presence on the roads in Tampa and throughout Florida. While these vehicles are important for the transportation of goods as well as for numerous other reasons, that does not diminish the dangers they present to other drivers on the road. Due to their massive size, the amount of time the drivers spend on the road and the other inherent risks, a crash can result in a fatal truck accident. After such an occurrence, the family left behind needs to know how to properly deal with the loss of a loved one.

A late-morning crash between a dump truck and a semi-truck led to the deaths of two men recently. The accident occurred at around 11:00 a.m. when a Chevy dump truck left a driveway and pulled into the road. The vehicle was traveling at a low rate of speed when it was rear-ended by the 2013 semi-truck. The 57-year-old driver of the dump truck was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, a 61-year-old man, was transported to the hospital via airlift where he later died. The 37-year-old male driver of the semi-truck suffered a knee injury that was not serious.

When there is an unexpected death, there will be an emotional component to getting through it. Other issues must also be taken into account no matter how difficult it is to think about them. That includes financial and personal factors. Insurance companies are unlikely to pay anything more than the lowest possible amount. In addition, insurance claims adjusters may also try to make a preemptive offer to preclude a legal filing, and that offer is often intentionally low. While receiving financial compensation is in no way a replacement for the loved one who died, it can help with making ends meet and moving forward after the fatal accident.

In this accident, two men in a dump truck died when their vehicle was rear-ended by a semi-truck. Law enforcement will conduct an investigation to see how and why it happened. When accidents such as this occur, the family of the deceased may want to consider learning more about the possibility of pursuing a wrongful death lawsuit.
