A leisurely weekend visit to a pet store could probably not have gone any worse for one Florida family. While his mother visited with other customers, a 6-year-old boy attempted to play with their dog, a pit bull. Unexpectedly, the dog bit the boy in the face, causing an injury serious enough to require stitches.
One benefit of Florida's warm weather is that motorcyclists can ride comfortably throughout the year. At the same time, this reality increases the chances that a motorcycle can be caught up in an accident. In many cases, these incidents occur because other motorists fail to see bikers on the road.
An Eckerd College freshman was killed in a car accident late last week. The 18-year-old was driving with another teenager in Osceola County when a pickup truck driver made a left turn in front of her Hyundai sedan. The collision caused the Hyundai to erupt into flames and both the driver and her passenger died.
